What if it Rains?

If you're planning an outdoor wedding ceremony, go for it, but make sure your venue has a contingency plan for rain (be it the ceremony or reception).

As for wedding photography, nobody wants to traipse out into the rain for a group or family shot - your venue needs a large indoor space sufficiently brightly lit (perhaps the based of a staircase lit by tall windows) that will allow me to shoot with a wide angle, get a whole group shot and further formal group photographs. Nor can this be the same as the space your venue staff are retreating to to reset a dining or reception option, it really needs to be separate.

That said, rain shouldn't dampen the excitement of your plans or day, and if you're up for it, it makes for some fun options for a couple of couple's shots under a brolly, with the raindrops frozen by the flash! These really do make for wedding photographs that are both fun and elegant!
