These are an important part of my philosophy on making a connection and getting you comfortable before your wedding day itself, so as to avoid any awkwardness about being in front of camera. Lots of people tell me when they get in touch that they just want "natural" photos (or they use phrases like 'candid' or 'documentary'). Totally understandable. Really this idea is a bit of a safety blanket - couples are sometimes demonising the idea of "posing" when they really mean they're not comfortable in front of the lens. But, you're hiring a pro to get you the most elegant photos of your wedding - this means me making suggestions about posture, tweaking pose - a touch of direction that in the end will look natural and unorchestrated. This only comes from your place of comfort, and that's why I like to build some rapport in one of these sessions first!
